<h2><strong>The pushback isn't about data centers- it's about fit.</strong></h2><p>Talk to enough townships about data centers and you start hearing the same thing. Communities across the United States, and increasingly around the world, are taking a harder look at what gets built in their backyards. But listen closely and the hesitation isn't about all data centers. It's about the 100MW+ hyperscale campus. A format that works beautifully for the hyperscaler and rarely works for the town asked to host it.</p><p>We hear this firsthand from economic development leaders across the country. One of them, in a city of roughly 20,000 people, told us his community had passed on multiple offers for 100MW+ data center projects. They weren't anti-technology. A site that size simply wasn't built for a town their size.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>That conversation is happening everywhere. And it raises a question the AI infrastructure industry has mostly skipped past: what if hyperscaler capabilities didn't require hyperscale sites?</p><h2>&nbsp;</h2><h2><strong>Built for the builder</strong></h2><p>Hyperscalers build massive because massive works for them. A single 100MW+ campus concentrates capital, simplifies operations, and deploys their compute in one location. Genuinely good for the builder. It's just a scale most communities aren't sized to host, which is why so many are passing.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The industry treats this as the price of admission: if you want AI compute at scale, it must be concentrated somewhere.</p><p>We don't think that's true.</p><h2>&nbsp;</h2><h2><strong>The distributed alternative: 2-20MW everywhere</strong></h2><p>Hydra Host runs on a different model. Our target facility is 2 to 20 megawatts. That's a footprint most municipal grids can handle without heroic infrastructure projects. It fits in existing industrial parks, repurposed buildings, and the sites towns are actively trying to fill.</p><p>A 5MW facility works with the grid a town already has. It hires local technicians, contracts with local trades, and pays local taxes at a scale where the benefit clearly outweighs the footprint.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Individually, these facilities are small. On the Hydra Host platform, they add up and are positioned to compete.</p><p>Through the Hydra AI Factory platform, AI builders who are training models or running inference get access to dozens of independent compute locations. Each one is its own facility, provisioned on demand or often through long-term contracts. And that independence isn't a compromise; it's the point. The Hydra platform offers dedicated compute at scale, where you need it.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>That's the core idea: <strong>hyperscaler capacity, distributed.</strong> The same total scale as a mega-campus, spread across communities where the footprint is welcome, with a choice of location no single site can match.</p><h2>&nbsp;</h2><h2><strong>The proof is in the growth</strong></h2><p>This isn't a thought experiment; it's our operating reality, and it's compounding.</p><ol><li>Over 9,000 new GPU’s under Hydra Host management over the past quarter</li><li>Data center partners grew by 17 facilities.&nbsp;</li><li>We are seeing growth across all regions of the US as well as APAC, LATAM, and EMEA.</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We've sustained 100% NVIDIA B300 GPU utilization across 50+ data centers. That number matters as it means distributed capacity isn't stranded capacity. Small facilities on the Hydra platform run as hard as anything a hyperscaler operates.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>And the model travels. Our sovereign deployment in El Salvador shows that a nation doesn't need a gigawatt campus to own meaningful AI infrastructure. Right-sized facilities, connected to a global operations and demand platform, deliver the capability without the local burden.</p><h2>&nbsp;</h2><h2><strong>What this means for towns, and for AI</strong></h2><p>For communities, there's a version of the AI buildout that works for you. A 2-20MW facility is an economic development win sized to your grid and your town. The communities passing on 100MW campuses aren't saying no to the AI economy. They're waiting for the right offer.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>For AI builders, distributed doesn't mean diminished. The capacity is real, the utilization is proven, and you choose where it lives.
